We love living here in The Yorkshire Wolds and count ourselves very lucky to live in such a beautiful rural area, whilst enjoying easy access to the coast, the market towns of Malton & Pickering and the city of York.
Our guests tend to think so too and say time and time again that it is a special place to relax and unwind at the end of a busy day sightseeing. One of our guests even wrote a poem for us!
Old Forge Thoughts
'The Skylarks sing above the waves,
Of ripening barley, in the breeze,
Wheat, potatoes, broad beans clothe,
The gentle fold of Yorkshire Wold,
Fitfully over its chalky bed,
The Gypsey Race flows east,
To Bridlington and the North Sea,
Where Hockney paints his buildings red,
'No More Turbines' the roadside plea,
From those who sight them every day,
But we can leave and take the view,
And 'Photoshop' them all away.'
